Often times, inaction or indecision is more costly than a wrong decision. The intention, when I think about this pendant- “I am the captain of the ship that is my life.” “I will be decisive and assertive when making plans with others.” “I will recognize situations where inaction or indecision can do more harm than making a ‘wrong’ decision, and I will pick something and just roll with it”

The design makes me think of the helm of a ship, although some have pointed out that it’s also a dharma wheel.

As my 40th birthday was approaching, I couldn’t decide how I wanted to celebrate. Someone asked me “where do you want to be, what do you want to do, and with whom?” Hard as I tried, I couldn’t come up with an answer. After all, I’d have been happy doing a variety of things. It was then I realized I had a problem making decisions, making plans, being a leader, and tuning in to what it is I want.

As a man, it’s especially important to be a leader. In partner dancing such as salsa, the man leads. As much as I enjoy partner dancing, being the lead doesn’t feel natural. Now I realize that just taking the lead and doing anything is better than nothing. Even if you mess up and get out of sync, just laugh it off and move on. It happens to even the best dancers.

Choosing a partner is another area where knowing what you want, and going for it, gives you the best chance for success.

What are some ways you intend to use this Giving Pendant to be a more decisive leader, decision maker, and captain of your life?
